Nashville Debrief

Music, Food, and a City That Keeps Reinventing Itself
Why Visit Now
Nashville has evolved far beyond its honky-tonk reputation — and 2026 is one of the most exciting times in recent memory to visit Music City. The city is riding a remarkable wave of new openings, cultural energy, and sheer momentum that has made it one of the top domestic destinations for American travelers this year.
The headline: Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel opens in June 2026 — a 245-room property in the heart of downtown with a 20,000-square-foot museum chronicling Parton's 60-plus-year career, two live music venues, and decor that's exactly as pink, gold, and butterfly-filled as you'd hope. It's already generating national buzz and will be one of the most talked-about hotel openings of the year.
Beyond that, Nashville's food scene continues to punch well above its weight, Broadway and Lower Broadway remain electric every night of the week, and the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium keep drawing serious music fans from around the world. Whether you're planning a girls' trip, a couple's getaway, a family vacation, or a solo adventure, Nashville has a version of itself for you.
Where to Stay
Nashville's hotel scene has exploded over the past few years, with quality options at every price point:
- Luxury: The Hermitage Hotel is Nashville's crown jewel — a Beaux-Arts landmark dating to 1910, consistently ranked among the best hotels in the American South. Four Seasons Hotel Nashville (from ~$895/night) delivers contemporary luxury with skyline views. The 1 Hotel Nashville brings an eco-luxe aesthetic to the SoBro neighborhood.
- Mid-Range / Boutique: The W Nashville on lower Broadway puts you steps from the live music strip with a rooftop pool and signature W energy. Caption by Hyatt Downtown Nashville (opened late 2024) offers a fresh, modern alternative with a great bar and excellent location near the Ryman. Motto by Hilton Nashville Downtown (opened January 2026) is right near the Johnny Cash Museum and Bridgestone Arena.
- 2026 Opening to Watch: The SongTeller Hotel (opening June 2026, 245 rooms, 211 Commerce Street) — Dolly Parton's love letter to Music City. Two performance venues, a full museum, and a rooftop bar. Book early; this one will sell out.
Location tip: Staying within walking distance of Lower Broadway means you can stumble into live music at any hour — a very different experience than staying near the airport or Opryland, which is great for families but a separate universe from downtown Nashville.
Getting There
Nashville International Airport (BNA) is one of the most accessible airports in the South, with nonstop service from most major U.S. cities. From Florida, nonstop flights typically run under two hours from Orlando, Tampa, or Miami on carriers including Southwest, Delta, American, and United.
BNA recently completed a major expansion — new terminal garages, an expanded concourse, additional gates, and a fresh International Arrivals facility — making the experience significantly smoother than even a few years ago. Downtown Nashville is about 15 minutes from the airport by car or rideshare, and rates are reasonable compared to other major cities.
No rental car needed if you're staying downtown — rideshare and walkability cover everything on Broadway and in the Gulch, Germantown, and 12 South neighborhoods.
A Word From Your Travel Advisor
"Nashville is one of those cities that surprises people. They expect the bachelorette parties and the honky-tonks — and yes, that's all there — but they don't expect the incredible food, the world-class museums, the craft cocktail bars, or how genuinely fun it is for every kind of traveler. I love helping people discover the version of Nashville that's right for them."
As your Jaunt Around advisor, I can help you nail the right hotel for your travel style, figure out the best time to visit (spring and fall are magical; summer is hot and packed but electric), and build an itinerary that goes deeper than just Broadway. Whether it's a long weekend or a full week, Nashville rewards good planning.
